    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.softek.co.uk/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1" rel="nofollow">admin</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> SafeStick Max OSX Support<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 25&nbsp;Jun&nbsp;2010 at 12:23pm<br /><br />From v4.02 of SafeStick Firmware, there is now just a SINGLE firmware update file no matter what controller type SafeStick you have.<br><br>However depending on what controller you have depends on what Mac OSX version it will run on.<br><br><span ="mediumtext">9930 controller SafeSticks ONLY support Mac OSX v10.5 and higher. <br><br>Older 7741 controller SafeSticks support Mac OSX v10.3 and higher.</span><br><br><span ="mediumtext">To identify a newer 9930 controller model, the number "BM9930" and Capacity will be etched into the silver USB plug on the end of the SafeStick.  If you have an older model, this information will not be visible externally.</span><br>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.softek.co.uk/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1" rel="nofollow">admin</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> SafeStick Max OSX Support<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03&nbsp;Jun&nbsp;2010 at 4:16pm<br /><br />SafeStick does work on Mac OSX.&nbsp; However there are a couple of things to note:<br><br><span ="mediumtext">As at June 2010, there are currently two slightly different hardware versions of SafeStick (including Supersonic).  <br><br>Shipped prior to January 2010 SafeSticks had an internal controller known as "7741".<br><br>After February / March 2010 SafeSticks controller changed to "9930".   <br><br>To identify a newer 9930 controller model, the number "BM9930" andCapacity will be etched into the silver USB plug on the end of theSafeStick. If you have an older 7741 model, this information will not bevisible externally.<br><br>Functionally, the SafeSticks are virtually identical, however they do require slightly different firmware.<br><br>9930 controller SafeSticks have both Mac OSX support ANDSafeConsole Backup support. (9930 controller SafeSticks ONLY supportMac OSX v10.5 and higher - Leopard or newer). <br><br>7741 controller can only have EITHER Mac OSX support OR Data Backupsupport - not both. (7741 controller SafeSticks support Mac OSX v10.4and higher - Tiger or newer). <br><br><br><br>**SafeStick does not work on a Mac**<br><br>1. Check your controller version (details above) and make sure you are running a supported MAC OSX version.<br><br>2.     <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.softek.co.uk/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1" rel="nofollow">admin</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> Upgrading SafeConsole<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 10&nbsp;Mar&nbsp;2010 at 12:30pm<br /><br />SafeConsole v4 is now available. &nbsp; <br><br>Full details on upgrading SafeConsole can be found in the release notes - an extract is below - however make sure you read the very latest release notes always included in the software download package.<br><br>Upgrading Steps from 3.x to 4.x<br>---------------<br>Installation of SafeConsole should take 15 minutes.&nbsp; However we recommend reading the new Install / User Manual in the first instance - available from the Documentation folder.<br><br>If you are upgrading SafeConsole from a previous version you will need to first uninstall the previous SafeConsole application.&nbsp; However ALL DATA, CONFIGURATION AND CERTIFICATES WILL BE PRESERVED.<br><br>Step 1 - Take a Backup (just in case).<br><br>1.) Perform:&nbsp;&nbsp; Start, Run, type&nbsp; "Services.msc"&nbsp; &lt;enter&gt;<br>2.) Scroll down to SafeConsole service.&nbsp; Click STOP.<br>3.) Navigate to&nbsp; C:\Program Files\BlockMaster\ and COPY the entire folder structure to a backup location of your choice.<br>4.) Copy C:\Program Files\BlockMaster\SafeConsole\keystore.p12 to the desktop.<br><br><br>Step 2 - Uninstall SafeConsole v3 <br><br>1.) From Control Panel, Add &amp;&nbsp; Remove Programs UNINSTALL SafeConsole v3.<br><br><br>Step 3 - Install new Version 4.<br><br>1.) Double click / Install SafeConsole 4.x from the \SafeConsole 4.x Software folder and follow the prompts.<br>2.) Re-run through the SafeConsole Configurator, entering details as needed.&nbsp; * See Install guide if needed.<br>3.) On "Page 4" of the SafeConsole Configurator you will need to re-import your SSL Certificate by pointing to your keystore.p12 file on the Desktop and entering the certificate password.&nbsp; *Note*&nbsp; If you have forgotten this password you can discover it from the "keystore-password" line, in the "safeconsole.ini" file which will be in the backup folder you created in step 1.<br><br>All your existing settings will be preserved. <br><br>When the wizard has completed, you will get confirmation of your users/OUs in the database and you will be presented with the standard SafeConsole "Deployment" page in your browser.<br><br><br>Step 4 - Install New Trial / Licence Key<br><br>1.) Log into SafeConsole v4, go to the "License" Tab, click "Install a License", then select the "SafeConsole Eval Key.lic" from the Software folder of this package.&nbsp; This will enable all features for testing until your new permanent key is issued.<br><br><br><br><br>]]>
